Craftsmanship

Slow, considered, and designed in Puerto Rico.

Every Canis Luxe is specified down to the joint: solid rubberwood, steel pins, and a hand-finished lacquer process. Designed in Puerto Rico and produced to that spec by trusted manufacturing partners. We don't ship until it's right.

Materials

Two materials. One quiet language.

Solid Rubberwood

Hardwood with a quiet conscience.

A sustainable hardwood reclaimed from rubber-tapping plantations after their productive life. Dense and stable, it takes finish beautifully and stands up to a dog living with it daily.

Hand-finished Lacquer

Layered, sanded, and softened.

Ivory and Charcoal pieces receive multiple coats of lacquer, hand-sanded between each layer for a soft, low-sheen surface. Oak is sealed with a natural wood finish that lets the grain breathe.

Built-in details

Designed around how you actually live with a dog.

Height-adjustable feeding plates

Height-adjustable feeding plates

Two stainless steel bowls that drop into a recessed bottom shelf and lift to fit your dog as they grow — no spills on the floor, no awkward bending to refill.

In-cabinet receptacle

In-cabinet receptacle

An integrated power receptacle hidden inside the cabinet — two grounded outlets, a USB-C, and a standard USB port — so phones, lamps, or pet feeders stay charged without visible cords.

Three soft-close drawers

Three soft-close drawers

Three full-extension drawers with steel slides for leashes, treats, brushes, and clean-up essentials — every walk-out item in arm's reach of the front door.

Open-front crate

Open-front crate

A wide, gated front with vertical steel bars gives your dog full visibility and airflow — a calm den that still feels connected to the rest of the room.

Process

Four steps from sketch to your door.

  1. 01

    Design

Drawn and prototyped in our San Juan studio until proportions, joinery, and fit feel right for both dog and room.

  2. 02

    Joinery

Solid rubberwood is milled, mortised, and pinned with steel — no veneers, no MDF, no shortcuts on the structure that holds your dog.

  3. 03

    Finish

Multiple coats of low-VOC lacquer or natural seal, hand-sanded between each pass for a soft, low-sheen surface that wipes clean.

  4. 04

    Quality check

Every piece is inspected, photographed, and signed off before it leaves. We don't ship until it's right.

The studio

A small island studio, not a factory.

We design in small batches from the island and partner with established manufacturers to produce to our spec. That keeps quality high and lead times honest. When you reserve a piece, we know exactly what's being built and when it's leaving for you.

"We design the piece we wanted in our own home — quiet enough to disappear, strong enough to live with a dog."
